COOKING WITH ZAHRA SHINES AT THE 
GOURMAND WORLD COOKBOOK AWARDS

Cooking with Zahra by Zahra Abdalla is the winner for the United Arab Emirates in the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards in the category “Television Chef Book – English”. Cooking with Zahra now qualifies for Best in the World 2020 with winners from other countries in the same category. The winner will be announced in Paris in July 2020.

The Gourmand World Cookbook Awards were founded in 1995 to honour the best food and wine books, printed or digital, as well as food television. The prestigious awards have been compared to the “Oscars” of the cookbook industry and the only international competition of its sector, with over 200 countries participating in the competition annually.

Zahra Abdalla, said: “I am humbled and honoured to have won the Gourmand Award in the category for Television Chef. My cookbook is a passion project that I am proud to have published. The recipes are a mixture of traditional and modern interpretations of Middle Eastern cuisine; it is a celebration of Eastern and Western culture, food and flavours”.

Zahra is a successful TV chef with a recent show on MBC, and has a large fan base with an Instagram following of over 50,000. Her book is a contemporary fusion of modern Arab cuisine mixing her personal family influences from the UAE, UK, Canada, Iran and Sudan all into one amazing book.
